  • Monitoring of Sulfur Compounds from Refinery flares - Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. monitored the emissions of Sulfur compounds from refinery flares. This projects was in compliance with SCAQMD rule 1118. Samples were collected in a silica lined cylinders and analyzed by Gas chromatograph equipped with Sulfur Chemilumencense detector. Our clients include most of the refineries with Southern California including: Chevron, Valero, Paramount Petroleum, BP- Carson, Tesoro, and ExxonMobil refineries.

  • Investigation into SMOG formation in Urban Area - Dr. Kitto was in charge of a large study investigation the formation of SMOG in urban area such as Philadelphia ,PA, and Atlanta, GA. This project was funded by USEPA. Air pollutants were measured in urban area including particulate matter, PM10, Sulfate, Nitrate, acidic particles (H2SO4), nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and ammonia.

  • Emissions of Sulfur compounds from the Paper Industry - Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. monitored the emissions of Sulfur compounds (PPBV levels) from pulp and paper industry. This project was funded by Smurfit Stone (Missoula, Minnesota)

  • Emissions of VOCs from Polystyrene industry (EPS) - Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. monitored the residual of pentanes compounds in the foam industry within United States our clients include Insulfoam, Polyfaom, Progrssive Foam, Lifoam, Styrotek, Storopack etc..

  • Emissions Hexavalent Chrome from Cement Industry - Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. investigated the emissions of hexavalent chrome (ng levels) from cement industry. Ambient Air samples were collected over two months period. The filters were analyzed for Hexavalent chrome using Ion Chromatography (Dionex DX 500) equipped with post column dervitization. Our detection limit is unmatched by any other laboratories (0.05 ng/ml).

  • Emissions of Total non Methane Non Methane Organic compounds from Waste Water Tanks (R1176) - Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. is currently providing analysis of TNMNEOC for compliance with SCAQMD rule 1176 for local refineries (Tesoro, Valero, and Chevron). Quantum Analytical Services, Inc. provides Summa Canisters for the collection of VOC.
